京都府景観資産に登録されている、湯屋谷地区。お茶とともに発展した独特の町並みを眺めながら散策します。化石を見ることもできます。
Yuyadani district, registered as a Kyoto Landscape Assets. You can take a stroll while looking at the unique townscape developed with Japanese green tea. You can also see fossils.
日本緑茶の生みの親、永谷宗円の生家を見学。美味しい煎茶を召し上がっていただけます。隣の茶宗明神社は、世界中から茶業にかかわる方々が訪れる、由緒ある場所です。
Tour the birthplace of Nagatani Soen, the creator of Japanese green tea. You can have delicious green tea. The next door, Chasomyo Shrine, is a venerable place where people involved in tea indus vistit from all over the world.
宗円交遊庵やんたんにて、湯屋谷のあばん(おばちゃん)の手作りランチをお召し上がりください。
Please enjoy a homemade lunch of Yuyadani's "Aban" (aunt) at the Soen Koyuan Yantan.

製茶工場を見学します。お茶の種類は、時期により、煎茶、かぶせ茶、玉露のいずれかになりますが、製造工程は、どれもほぼ同じです。

Visit a tea factory. The type of tea maiking in the factory is Sencha, covered tea Kabusecha or Gyokuro depending on the season. The manufacturing process is almost the same.

野点(のだて)体験
Open-air Tea Ceremony NODATE Experience

野点（のだて）とは、屋外でのお茶席のこと。堅苦しい作法は必要ありません。茶園の美しい景色を眺めながら、美味しい抹茶をお楽しみください。
"Nodate" is an outdoor tea ceremony. There is no need for rigorous manners. Enjoy having delicious Matcha with a view of the beautiful tea garden.
古民家見学
Visit to Old Japnese-style House

旧茶問屋を見学します。室町時代の掛け軸など、歴史ある資料や調度などが見られるほか、家主の奥さんの楽しいおしゃべりを楽しみながら、美味しいお茶を召し上がっていただけます。
Visit to former tea wholesale store. You can see historical materials and furnitures, such as hanging scrolls from the Muromachi era. And you can have delicious tea while enjoying the landlady's pleasant talk.

CHA-KABUKI is a game to guess what type of the tea it is. This experience is easy to understand for beginners.

抹茶の石臼挽き体験
Making Matcha Experience

抹茶の原料、碾茶を石臼で挽く体験です。石臼挽きの後は、美味しい抹茶を味わっていただけます。
It is an experience of grinding Tencha (material of Mathca) with a stone mill. After grinding, you can drink good taste Matcha.
京番茶作り体験
Making Kyo-bancha Experience

茶園でお茶を刈り、蒸す、干すの工程のあと、ホットプレートで番茶を作ります。茶園に入りますので、動きやすい服装でお越しください。
You cut the big leaves and branches at the tea field. The leaves are steamed and dried by staff. After that, you make Bancha by electric griddle.
Please come in comfortable clothes.

こちらは、外国人の子ども連れのファミリーを対象にツアーを企画している会社のモニターツアーの様子です。
事前に打ち合わせをし、茶畑での茶摘み、宗円生家と茶宗明神社の見学、大福谷での野点、ピクニック、宗円交遊庵やんたんで、煎茶と番茶づくりと抹茶の石臼挽き体験と盛りだくさんのプランを組まれました。
また、食事もお客様のニーズに合ったものをと考え、普段のメニューにはないお弁当をご用意いたしました。

This is a promotional tour of a company that plans tours for foreign families with children.
We discussed with a company's staff in advance, and they planed a lot of experiences; new buds plucking at tea field, visiting the birthplace of Nagatani Soen, Chasomyo Shrine, an outdoor tea ceremony at Obukudani, picnic, making Sencha and Bancha, grinding Matcha.
In addition, we prepared box lunches those are not in the usual menu.
